Supervision
I have been practising Positive Psychology Coaching for three years and am studying on the ICF and EMCC accredited Course with the International Centre for Coaching Supervision.
I would really love to help new coaches in their practice and offer a personalised supervision package for you.
Why is supervision important?
Are you a student on a coaching course?
I remember being on my coaching course and being told that we have to find a supervisor. I was so nervous. What if they think I am terrible? What shall I talk about? I can’t even remember the names of the models?
Please book a call with me where I will reassure you, encourage you and help you build your confidence on the course and in your practice.
I offer sessions where a few of you can come together too, so if you are nervous, grab some friends.
Do you feel a lack of confidence with some of your clients?
As we progress in our coaching practice we will come across clients who will challenge us and our style. Self-doubt and nerves can creep in and we can begin to avoid trying new things and sticking to the same client types. We are all learning and supervision allows you to discuss your methods and feelings towards your clients in a safe space.
Allow me to create an environment so that we can explore ideas together and work with you to build confidence in your coaching style and practice.
Are you looking after yourself as well as your clients?
Are you practicing self-care and setting boundaries so that you are at your best for your clients. As well as discussing the needs and best practice for your clients, part of our supervision will be checking in and making sure that you are staying psychologically safe and using positive psychology techniques to ensure your wellbeing.
You cannot pour from an empty cup.
Wellbeing
Your wellbeing is my first focus. I will be using the same techniques that I use in my coaching to ensure that you are mentally flourishing, thriving and motivated.
Only when you feel valued, understood, and confident will you be able to reflect on your coaching practice and receive feedback for improvement and encouragement. I remember as a new coach feeling a little nervous to take all my emotions to the supervision session, this will be your safe space to do just that.
Only when we are at our best can we deliver the best coaching to our clients.
Are you taking your knowledge and making it your own?
Are you using tools and approaches that are suitable for each individual client?
Business planning and ideas
Do you wish you could find more clients?
Are you clear about the type of people that you would like to help?
Would you like your business to be seen and heard more?
Often as coaches we are looking for clients and the best ways to market and support our business. As part of our supervision, we can evaluate your marketing strategies, talk about any issues you are having with building your client base and accessing the type of clients you are wishing to offer your services too.
I know from personal experience that my own supervisor ‘sees’ things in my business that I would not have thought of. I run a successful coaching business that enables me to live the life that I want to and at the very least, can help you navigate away from the mistakes I made when I was first starting out in business.
Learning and Development
Reflective practice and continual learning is at the heart of my supervision. I am currently training with the International Centre for Coaching Supervision and will use this for my continual self-development whilst we are in a supervisory relationship.
As part of my practice as a supervisor, I will attend continuous professional development so that I can share valuable practice and theories being used by other coaches. I will also wholeheartedly encourage you to find your own coaching style. I will hold a mirror up for you for your own development and learn from you and your experiences.
Quality
Do you question yourself after a session?
Do you struggle sometimes to help a client get to their resolution or aha moment?
Do you have a tribe of fellow coaches who you can turn to and learn from?
Supervision is important to ensure that your coaching service is evaluated and is effective for your client. During our sessions, we will look at the importance of your coaching staying in line with the client objectives, enabling safeguarding for the client/the organisation they work for.
As coaches we are often looking for ways to improve our coaching skills and this collaborative improvement and development will be encouraged. I will be using supervision models that are appropriate for your style of coaching and in turn will be open and honest about my own coaching development.
Due diligence and ethics
Part of the supervision practice is to minimise the risk of unethical or unprofessional practice. We must ensure that as coaches we are focused on the client’s objectives within the boundaries of our capability.
I work under the EMCC code of ethics, and my supervision also works under their guidelines under the EMCC, ICF and AofC accredited supervision course.
